,1,A popular comic strip has been canned by 77 newspapers after its creator Scott Adams started incorporating anti-woke plotlines, including a black character who identifies as white. Adams' much-loved 'Dilbert' comics have been in circulation since 1989 and frequently pokes fun at office culture, but he announced he was sensationally dropped by publisher Lee Enterprises. The media company owns nearly 100 newspapers across the country - including The Buffalo News, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the Arizona Daily Sun - and has been publishing Adams' jokes about the corporate ladder for years. One of his most recent controversial comic strips included a black worker, who identifies as white, being asked to also identify as gay to boost his company's environmental, social, and governance ratings. Dave, his reoccurring character, replies: 'Depends how hard you want me to sell it,' before the boss responds: 'Just wear better shirts.' Adams, 65, is believed to be worth nearly $70million - a fortune he amassed thanks to the popularity of his characters, as well as his non-Dilbert related works. Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, has called out the 77 newspapers after he was suddenly dropped One of the most recent comics touched upon anti-woke ESG enterprises in corporate workspaces. This comic was posted September 20, 2022 Another satire, posted on Monday, showed the same character in charge of the fictional firm wondering how he can open a new factory without contributing negatively to the environment. As a solution to stop him being bashed by 'woke' commentators, the boss concludes that he'll add a non-binary worker to his board to increase diversity. Adams' satirical strips feature in newspapers across 57 countries, and in 19 languages - and there are over 20 million Dilbert books and calendars in print. The character Dave, named after the creator's brother, is a prankster who messes with his boss, Adams said. He told Fox News that some newspapers voiced concerns after receiving complaints about his comic content. But he could not say for sure if that had anything to do with the removal of 'Dilbert.' Adams said: 'It was part of a larger overhaul, I believe, of comics, but why they decided what was in and what was out, that's not known to anybody except them, I guess.' The Daily Cartoonist reported that the comic strips 'Baby Blues,' 'Red and Rover,' 'Mutts' and 'Bizarrro' were also cut. Cartoonist Dan Piraro, who created 'Bizarro,' spoke about getting the axe. 'Lee Enterprises, a newspaper group that is majority-owned by a large investment firm, stopped running 'Bizarro' and many other comics in their papers this past week,' Piraro wrote on his webpage. The removal of the strips has had a 'significant' financial impact on Adams, but it's unclear how much money he was making from the partnership to begin with. Responding to claims that Lee Enterprises were just making changes to their syndication, the cartoonist added: 'Do you think they flipped coins to decide what to keep and what to delete? It wasn't about popularity or cost. This 'controversial' comic was posted September 13, 2022 Another one of Adams' gaffs was published on September 7, 2022 This comic hit publication on September 19, 2022 ANTI-WOKE COMICS: 'The more woke you are, the more you will get paid,' published September 2, 2022 'But it could have been a normal business decision of another type that is a huge coincidence. In another of his anti-woke comics, one boss told workers: 'We are replacing traditional performance reviews with a wokeness score assigned by human resources.' They explain the idea that 'the more woke you are, the more you will get paid.' But one confused worker buts in, saying: 'That feels too subjective.' And the boss bites back: 'That'll cost you two points off your wokeness score, bigot.' Lee Enterprises - who own local media outlets from 26 different states - has been contacted for comment.

,1,Jake Paul will return to the boxing ring to face UFC legend Anderson Silva at Phoenix's Gila River Arena on October 29. Paul has not fought since his sixth-round knockout of Tyron Woodley in December 2021, his second of two wins against the former UFC welterweight champion. Before that, Paul had knocked out Ben Askren and after overcoming Woodley for a second time was meant to face Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. before both fights fell apart in August. YouTube star Paul has made somewhat of a name for fighting former professionals from the octagon, with the next challenge coming against former UFC middleweight champion Silva. While holding the record for most consecutive victories in UFC (16), 47-year-old Silva boasts a 3-1 tally as a professional boxer, beating the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez and former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. He retired from mixed martial arts in 2020 after five losses from his last six fights, albeit against world-class opponents. The bout will be contested at 187 pounds over eight three-minute rounds, the weight Paul claims Anderson's team requested. "The plan is for me to fight at 185 [pounds] going forward and that's what I wanted this fight at given it was the weight Anderson Silva fought at during his reign as the most dominant UFC champion ever," Paul told ESPN. "Anderson's team asked if we could set the weight at 187, two pounds more than what I wanted. That level of professionalism and precision is appreciated, and of course I agreed to his request." Paul hailed the capabilities of Anderson with a statement to announce the clash, pointing to his victory over Chavez as proof of his boxing ability. "Anderson 'The Spider' Silva is the most versatile fighter the world has ever seen," the statement said. "Just a year ago he outclassed boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and showed the world why he is often referred to as the greatest fighter of all time. "Every expert, from MMA to boxing, has said Jake Paul won't fight Anderson Silva. They said Jake Paul is afraid of Anderson Silva, and Jake Paul would lose to Anderson Silva. "Well, to all the non-believers – Jake Paul is fighting Anderson Silva. It's an honour to have the opportunity to share the ring with the greatest UFC striker of all time. "On Saturday, October 29, I will walk humbly into the ring, touch gloves with a living legend and do my best to exterminate 'The Spider'."

,1,On Saturday night, Former President Donald Trump tried to distract from his own legal problems over government documents by claiming his arch enemy Hillary Clinton crammed classified information on to a 'secret server.' On Tuesday, she hit back with an exasperated tweet. 'I can't believe we're still talking about this, but my emails… As Trump's problems continue to mount, the right is trying to make this about me again,' wrote the former secretary of state. 'There’s even a "Clinton Standard." 'The fact is that I had zero emails that were classified.' An FBI investigation in 2016 concluded that she and her aides were 'extremely careless' in their handling of classified information - and that classified information was in emails sent and received by an address she maintained on a non-government server. But then director James Comey said 'no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.' Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hit back at Donald Trump and his supporters on Tuesday, saying: 'The fact is that I had zero emails that were classified' Trump used a speech on Saturday to bring up the issue of Clinton's use of a private server when she was at the State Department. His supporters responded with a chant of 'lock her up' Clinton used Twitter to complain about the attacks on her while Trump is under investigation He later rowed back and said there was very little secret information. And subsequent investigations found none of the emails in question carried 'classified' markings. Her opponents have put the episode back in the news in recent days as they try to defend Trump. FBI agents found more than 11,000 government records at his Mar-a-Lago home last month, including highly sensitive classified documents. During a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday he claimed it was all part of an effort to silence him. 'Even media companies that are pretty far left have come out and said we can't believe this is happening in the USA,' he told thousands of supporters in Wilkes-Barre. 'We are being assaulted by the same groups, the FBI and DOJ, that just a few years ago declared no reasonable prosecutor would charge Crooked Hillary after she set up a secret illegal server to hide her family's pay-for-play schemes. 'Crammed full of classified information, allowed it to be plundered by foreign hackers. And then deleted 30,000 emails, think of that.' FBI agents seized more than 11,000 government documents from Mar-a-Lago last month His supporters broke into a chant of 'lock her up,' a common refrain during the 2016 election when her emails - and the FBI's decision to reopen its investigation - overshadowed the final days of campaigning. This time around it is Trump facing legal jeopardy, and Clinton has leaned into the story amid allegations that the former president may have tried to obstruct the investigation. Even before the Mar-a-Lago raid she highlighted reports that Trump destroyed records by tweeting a link to her political action committee and its collection of 'but her emails' stickers, mugs and T-shirts. Clinton waded back in on Tuesday with a tweet thread. Comey admitted he was wrong after he claimed I had classified emails,' she wrote. 'Trump’s own State Department, under two different secretaries, found I had no classified emails,' she wrote. 'By contrast, Trump has hundreds of documents clearly marked classified, and the investigation just started.'
,1,CNN is facing questions from critics after the network was busted altering the lighting for President Biden’s Thursday address, softening the blood-red hues to calmer shades of pink. The president came in for withering mockery online for the harsh black and red backdrop, with many comparing the optics to “Star Wars” and “V for Vendetta.” While networks like CNN, MSNBC, CBS and C-SPAN carrying the speech all originally appeared consistent, CNN noticeably altered the color of the background from red to pink in real-time. Eagle-eyed cable news watchers pounced on the shift. The story was reported in Mediaite, which put the CNN footage up side-by-side against other networks, showing that the CNN switch was not a technical problem that hit all networks. “CNN appears to have tweaked the video of Biden’s speech from demonic red to Pepto-Bismol pink. Very helpful, as we needed a lot of Pepto-Bismol to get through this!,” said former Arkansas Gov. CNN’s broadcast appeared to show a pink background behind Biden. The network claimed it was a technical glitch with the CBS pool feed. A rep for CNN said the issue was caused by a technical glitch with the CBS pool feed. Though Biden promised to deliver a unifying speech on the “battle for the soul of the nation,” he was blasted by partisans as divisive and fear-mongering. Many latched on to his claims that “MAGA Republicans” were a threat to the country — something the president later walked back. “I don’t consider any Trump supporters a threat to the country,” he told Fox News Friday. “I do think anyone who calls for the use of violence, refuses to acknowledge an election … changing the way you count votes, that is a threat to democracy.”
