President-elect Donald Trump has promised to carry out a large-scale pardon operation when he takes office, which could gift clean slates to hundreds of defendants who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
While Trump has been largely mum on the specifics of the plan, his transition team, lawyers involved with the Jan. 6 cases, and legal experts have signaled that they anticipate at least some of the 1,500 defendants who face charges receiving relief.

Lawmakers have raised the minimum age for marriage in the commonwealth in an effort to combat child marriages entirely in the Old Dominion. Earlier this year, the legislature and Youngkin approved a bill that changes the age for marriage from 16 to 18.
Under state law previously, 16- or 17-year-olds could get married if they had permission from a parent or guardian, but now, only those 18 or older may be married in the state effective Monday.

While both candidates held events in Georgia centered around black businesses ahead of the debate, not everyone in the community feels the attempts are genuine.
"He can take his hot sauce, fried chicken, and watermelon self and stick it," said Dr. Linda Lee Tarver about Biden.

The NLRB held in McLaren Macomb that it is an unfair labor practice for employers to include non-disparagement and confidentiality provisions in severance agreements.
Supreme Court Opens Overtime to Highly Compensated Employees
The high court has ruled that a daily-rate worker earning over $200,000 a year is entitled to overtime because he does not meet the requirements for an overtime exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
