The Digitization Program Office (DPO) supports 21 museums, 8 research centers and the National Zoo to increase the quantity, quality and global impact of Smithsonian digital assets. Our challenge and opportunity can be measured by the quantity of collections – over 157 million museum objects and specimens, 146 thousand cubic feet of archival material, and 2.2 million library volumes.
