See the umbra (shadow cast by the moon on the earth during the solar eclipse) as viewed from 57,000 ft above the earth. MIT Lincoln Laboratory staff camped in Ft Laramie in the path of totality and launched a High Altitude Balloon with a MIT Lincoln Laboratory custom-built payload for a field test during the eclipse on August 21, 2017.
