US soldier detained by North Korea after crossing border

A US citizen has been detained in North Korea after crossing the demarcation line without approval. The man has been identified as Private 2nd Class Travis King – a serving US Army soldier who had been facing disciplinary action by the military. Mr King was on an organised tour of the UN run demilitarised zone separating North and South Korea. The United Nations Command said it’s working with North Korean authorities to try and resolve the incident.
