A police officer in Fredericksburg, Virginia, stopped a high-speed car chase by guessing the correct route of the suspect's vehicle and accurately deploying a spike strip. Also known as a stinger, the spike strip was pitched into the road ahead of the vehicle to burst a tyre and force the car to a stop.
