Pease of Otter Lake, Minnesota, these extraordinary color home movies of Mardi Gras in New Orleans date to the year 1940 (at least -- that date appears on screen on the Jax float seen at 2:28). Many of the images were shot on Canal Street, and the movie "Swanee River in Technicolor" (released 1939) is visible on the front of the movie theater seen at (2:24). The footage includes both daytime and nighttime images of revelers, floats, and street performers. Tell people what it is and what they can see by writing something for example: "01:00:12:00 -- President Roosevelt is seen meeting with Winston Churchill at the Quebec Conference."
