US President Joe Biden’s decision to send cluster ammunition to Ukraine has invited sharp criticism from Washington’s NATO allies. Biden defended the “difficult decision”, saying Ukraine was “running out of ammunition” and needed the cluster bombs. Ukrainian Defense Minister welcomed the announcement and promised the munitions would be used only in occupied territories and not in Russia. However, many NATO countries has are speaking out against the transfer as the ammunition is outlawed in the the Oslo Convention of 2008.
