TikTok CEO says government devices ‘should have no social media apps’

TikTok CEO told Congressman John Joyce, from Pennsylvania, that no government devices should have TikTok or any other social media app. Shou Chew said: “I think the government devices should have no social media apps to be honest, not just targeted at us.” The UK Parliament banned the Chinese-owned social media app from its network following a review by the National Cyber Security Centre last week, 16 March. The European Parliament, European Commission and the EU Council have also imposed bans on TikTok on staff devices.
