New research finds concussion in young athletes increases future risk of injury

University of South Australia’s Dr Hunter Bennett discusses new research which has found concussions in young athletes can increase their future risk of injury. “We don’t have the sort of resolution to examine whether multiple concussions increase that risk further, but it does seem to just be consistent that if you do experience a concussion and you come back, you are likely to experience some sort of increase in injury risk when you are compared to those athletes who have never had an injury before,” he told Sky News Australia.
