Paul Keating “ran the Chinese Community Party line” in his critical speech of the AUKUS deal which “we shouldn’t be surprised at” as he’s “been on the Chinese payroll,” says Sky News host Caleb Bond. His comments come after the former prime minister slammed the AUKUS nuclear submarines program as the “worst deal in all history” at the National Press Club conference on Wednesday. “Paul Keating is a bloke who was on the board of the China Development bank – which is you know is basically a quasi-arm of the CCP – for 13 years,” Mr Bond said. “He served as its chairman for ten years. In 2021 he said that if China were to go to war with Taiwan, Australia should do nothing about it because you know, Taiwan is of very little interest to us basically. “I mean this is a bloke who toes the China line every day of the week and lo and behold, he’s been on the Chinese payroll.”
