Adaptability Explorer David Shenk There are few authors who could write important books on subjects as diverse as Alzheimer's, chess, genetics and information overload. Yet David Shenk's background as a contributor to National Geographic, the BBC and the New York Times, to mention but a few, allows him to bring these diverse and complex subjects within the reach of all. David will be illustrating how we're not as limited by our DNA as we used to think, and how the emergent field of epigenetics may well be the missing puzzle piece in the epic story of human adaptability. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
