Thousands of Georgians took the streets of the country's capital, Tblisi, on Wednesday, in a second day of large-scale protests against a controversial law on media funding that demonstrators fear could take the country off the path to EU membership. Police could be seen using tear gas, water cannons and stun grenades to disperse protesters who gathered outside the country's parliament.  The new law would require media organisations that receive more than 20% of their funding from abroad to register as 'foreign agents' or possibly face large fines. Critics of the new law, which is supported the governing Georgian Dream party, fear it could hamper press freedoms and mirrors a similar bill introduced in Russia in 2012.  Protesters and police clash in Georgia for second day over ‘foreign agents’ law Thousands of Georgians protesting against 'authoritarian' law clash with police – video
