The Big Bang theory says that one day, black holes will rule the universe. This period, known as the Black Hole Era, is estimated to begin approximately 10 googol years, or ten raised to power one hundred years into the future. At this time, almost everything else would have either broken down or been swallowed by these huge space "vacuums." The universe would transform into a vast, chilly expanse, primarily populated by black holes, with bits of diffuse particles of light and matter. Then, even these black holes are proposed to slowly disappear due to Hawking Radiation. This spooky, isolated era represents one of the final stages in the universe's life cycle, laying the groundwork for the subsequent Dark Era, where even the black holes have dissipated, leaving a virtually empty cosmos in their wake.
