Monarchists link cancelled 2026 Comm Games to 'Republican' conspiracy

Australian Monarchist League Chair Philip Benwell reveals an alternative theory as to why Daniel Andrews cancelled the 2026 Commonwealth Games, as monarchists claim the Victorian Premier didn’t want to host King Charles III. “I mean we’re seeing a lot of Republicanism by stealth by the Prime Minister,” Mr Benwell told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “When you look at the Coronation, nothing absolutely was done to celebrate the Coronation as it should have been celebrated.”
