‘Forced out’: Boris Johnson resigns as MP amid lockdown breach allegations

Boris Johnson is stepping down as an MP as the former British prime minister is accused of misleading parliament about gatherings held during the COVID-19 lockdown. “I did not lie, and I believe that in their hearts the Committee know it,” Mr Johnson said in a statement. "It is very sad to be leaving parliament - at least for now. I am being forced out by a tiny handful of people, with no evidence to back up their assertions.”
