Russia "Thwarts" Ukraine's Donetsk Offensive, Drone Attack In Belgorod, Polish Fighters Join The War

An energy facility was set on fire in the early hours of June 5, Russia’s Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. Gladkov said that preliminary reports suggest that a drone dropped an explosive device on the facility. Russia has said that its forces thwarted a major Ukrainian offensive in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk. Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces killed 250 Ukrainian troops and destroyed dozens of tanks and vehicles. However, Ukraine said that its troops achieved two small victories along the front line in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Russian Volunteer Corps has said they captured several soldiers during a raid in Belgorod region and would hand them over to Kyiv. The US has said that it believes that the upcoming counteroffensive will result in Kyiv taking back “strategically significant territory".
