Israel hammers Hamas targets as ground offensive could be imminent

Israel has responded to Hamas' attack over the weekend by conducting a "complete siege" on the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces has called up 300,000 reserves. Israeli fighters could soon be ready to execute a ground mission in Gaza as the Israeli military has conducted air raids. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed early Wednesday that 1,200 Israelis have died since Hamas began its attack on Saturday. The IDF said the majority of those dead were civilians. Meanwhile, the Palestinian-run Gaza Ministry of Health said that 1,055 Palestinians have died since the start of the escalation.
