Russian navy’s training ship Perekop sailed to Cuban shores and was welcomed with cannon blasts upon its arrival in Havana on July 11. It was the first official visit by a Russian naval vessel to Cuba in years as the former Cold War-era allies reforge bilateral ties. While in Cuba for a four-day visit, the Perekop’s sailors will “carry out a wide range of activities,” according to Cuban state-media reports.
