Israeli forces prepare for street fighting with Hamas on brink of tunnel invasions

Israeli forces have surrounded Gaza City and are on the brink of the next phase of their invasion in response to Hamas' October 7th terror attack on Israel. Bloody urban warfare will likely ensue within the next 24 hours in and around the tunnels where both Hamas and hostages are presumably positioned. The Biden administration, while remaining the strongest backer of Israel's military response to Hamas' attacks on Oct. 7, is increasingly seeking to use its influence with Israel to try to temper the effect of Israel's weeks of complete siege and near round-the-clock air, ground and sea assaults in Gaza, home to 2.3 million civilians.
