King Charles III has delivered his first speech since the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, thanking her for being an inspiration to him and his family. “We owe her the most heartfelt debt any family could owe to their mother for her love, affection, understanding and example,” he said. “Queen Elizabeth was a life well lived, a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing.”
