Bison trapped in well saved by dedicated team in India

A wild bison was rescued after it had fallen into a well in western India. This happened in Malvan Taluka of Sindhudurg district of the state. Visuals showed the rescue operation to capture the bison underway. The wild bovine was trapped inside of the well and officials of the Sawantwadi forest department rushed to the spot to capture and save the animal. A ramp was prepared with the help of an excavator and the wild bison was seen trying to walk out of the dug-up well with a box kept right in front. A huge applause followed as the bovine made its way into the box. According to a report, the rapid rescue team was led by Kudal Forest Range Officer Sandeep Kumhar, Sawantwadi Forest Range Officer Madan Kshirsagar and Kadaval Forest Range Officer Amit Katke. They arrived at the spot and found about the bison which was a fully-matured 15-16 year-old male. The bison was rescued in a specially prepared rescue van at Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, Kolhapur.
