West End Poster BANNED by TfL Because It Shows Wedding Cake

This poster has been banned from being displayed anywhere on the Transport for London network. The wedding cake in the advert apparently fell foul of TFL rules designed to prevent the promotion of high fat, salt and sugar foods. And it’s not the first time these rules have made the news. In 2019 TFL had to redesign their own cultural tube maps. The series of maps were created to showcase the best London had to offer along the underground network. But they originally included now forbidden depictions of food like cake and popcorn. But TFL insists the policy is an important tool to combat obesity in the capital. In 2022 a study estimated that the new rules had probably prevented almost 100,000 cases of obesity in the UK.
