A fragile peace appears to be holding between Taxi Association Santaco and the City of Cape Town. This as more taxis have been impounded this weekend. Intense negotiations have seen the strike action being called off. This after five people, including a British doctor, had been shot dead and tens of thousands of people left stranded. The root of the dispute, the City impounding thousands of taxis for traffic infringements, using the National Land Transport Act. The clergy is once again adding its voice to calls for restraint.
