First El Nino in 7 years to bring dry and hot summer conditions

The Bureau of Meteorology has officially declared an El Nino event. It has been seven years since the last weather phenomenon took place. The declaration holds a warning of hot and dry summer-like conditions this spring and summer. The event brings increased fire danger and will provide challenges for farmers. El Nino has been forecasted for some time but the BOM officially announced it on Tuesday.
