Florida Gov. DeSantis says book banning 'rumors' are a 'nasty hoax'

At the State Attorney’s Office in Tampa, Florida's governor said media outlets and individuals falsely explained the state's position on some books in schools, calling claims that some books were banned a "nasty hoax." Before Gov. DeSantis took the stage, a video played for the room showing alleged examples of books that have been found in Florida school districts, including Hillsborough County, where Tampa is located. The images were graphic and some were sexual in nature. It was unclear where the books were found and if they were being used for instructional purposes.
