Scathing parliamentary report shows flood response failures

A scathing parliamentary report into the NSW Northern Rivers and Hawkesbury region flood response in February and March found leading government agencies and the SES let down residents in need and has called for major changes. The report found government bodies failed to coordinate and lead, integration shortfall slowed response, and the response was treated as a nine-to-five business operation. The report makes 37 recommendations, which include a complete restructuring of the State Emergency Service.
