'In the interest of both countries': Chalmers pushes for a return to normal trading patterns

Treasurer Jim Chalmers says the current trade restrictions need to be lifted, advocating for a return to more normalised trading patterns. "Our objective all along has been to stabilise the economic relationship with China," Mr Chalmers said during a media conference on Thursday. "We recognise the complexities in managing this relationship. "We have so much to gain from a region which is stable and secure and peaceful and prosperous, and all of our efforts are directed towards that in one way or another."
