‘Catastrophic failure’: Titan submarine must have had an unknown ‘weakness’

A TV reporter who visited the Titanic in a Russian submersible over 20 years ago discusses the “catastrophic failure” of the OceanGate Titan submarine. Dr Michael Guillen points out that there must have been a weakness with the vessel. “The ocean is merciless, it will not forgive, it’s pressing in on you in all directions and even though they weren’t at the bottom, there was sufficient pressure that whatever weakness was there it was instant,” he told Sky News host Erin Molan.
