Sky News host Peta Credlin says it is “very unlikely” Australia’s “most left-wing state” will change under the new Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan. Ms Credlin said Daniel Andrews’ handover to his “anointed Labor-left faction successor” didn’t go as planned with Tim Pallas intended to be deputy premier. “But by threatening to run a candidate for leader and thus forcing a lengthy membership ballot, the emasculated and formerly neutered Labor right secured for itself the deputy premier’s job, in a sign that the new premier won't be anything like as dominant as her predecessor,” she said. Ms Credlin warned that Ms Allan ran the state’s Commonwealth Games bid and has overseen the suburban rail loop. “As much as she's got baggage, don't underestimate the love she will get from the weak … Melbourne media and the effective machine behind her,” she said.
