Thursday will be another great day, but we're going to be starting out chilly and may see some showers in the evening. We are starting off chilly with most areas in the 40s and even a few upper 30s to the north. By 8 a.m., temps will be around 48 degrees. It will be a quiet start to the day with lots of sunshine before some more clouds build in later during the afternoon. Thursday will be even warmer than Wednesday, with a high of 73 degrees. We could see a few light showers Thursday night along and to the east of Interstate 95. Head over to the North Carolina State Fair before the rain heads our way. You can get free admission to the fair Thursday if you bring six canned food items for Hunger Relief Day. A cold front is expected to move through on Friday, along with some rain. On Friday, lows will be back in the 50s -- along with a 50% chance for showers in the evening and into Saturday morning. The best chance for rain is Friday evening into Friday night. We'll keep watching to see if this impacts high school football games in the area. After the rain moves through, things will be dry again and lows will be steadily dropping. WRAL Meteorologist Kat Campbell said it will be especially breezy on Saturday. After the rain moves through, things will be dry again and lows will be steadily dropping.
