Ukraine Sends Elite Units to Bakhmut, Russian Defence Minister Inspects Donetsk "Command Post"

Ukraine’s military said that its forces repelled more than 150 Russian assault attempts in five directions over the past day. Ukraine also said that its forces shot down a Su-34 warplane and eight recon and strike UAVs of the Russian forces. Russia’s Defence Ministry said their forces killed 150 Ukrainian troops in the Kransy liman direction on March 4. Ukraine’s General Staff has said that Russian forces are trying to encircle the eastern town of Bakhmut. Bakhmut Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Marchenko said that Russian forces have not taken control over the city yet. The UK Defence Ministry reported that Russian forces have made further advances into the northern suburbs of the city. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu paid a rare visit to Russia’s forces in Ukraine. Shoigu “inspected the forward command post of one of the formations” in the Southern Donetsk region. A crowd at an event in India appeared to laugh at Russia's FM Sergei Lavrov after he said the Ukraine conflict was "launched against us".
