Tributes pour in for popular body boarder who died on Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Tributes are pouring in for a popular body boarder who died on Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Sunday. Mauricio Abrunhosa was pulled from the water unconscious this morning. It’s believed the two-time state champion body boarder was competing in an event on Curl Curl Beach when he was found unresponsive. Bystanders tried to revive him before paramedics arrived but the 48-year-old died in hospital a short time later.
