Russian President Vladimir Putin has had “his skin saved” by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko after the head of Wagner struck a deal to be exiled to Belarus, according to former British commander Richard Kemp. “It sort of seemed to be going quite badly for Putin in the early stages from yesterday,” Mr Kemp told Sky News host Rowan Dean. “During the course of today it appears that Prigozhin, the head of Wagner, came to a deal with Lukashenko – who is President of Belarus. “So Putin has basically had his skin saved by his ally in Belarus and Prigozhin – the Wagner leader is now apparently going to exile in Belarus, and the other members of the coup … are being effectively let off.”
