David Shenk is an American writer, lecturer, and filmmaker on genetics, talent and intelligence. He is a national bestselling author of six books, including the 2010 "The Genius in All of Us", reviewed by the New York Times as "A deeply interesting and important book" and published on its "Best Sellers Non-fiction" list. As a writer, he has contributed to National Geographic, Slate, The New York Times, Gourmet, Harper's, Wired, The New Yorker, The New Republic, The Nation,The American Scholar, National Public Radio, and the Public Broadcasting System, and he has been a correspondent for TheAtlantic.com since 2009. He is a 1988 graduate of Brown University. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
