Trump cannot be on trial in Georgia if he’s president, attorneys argue

Donald Trump should not stand trial if he is elected president in 2024, his attorneys have argued. During a trial in Fulton County, Georgia, surrounding allegations that the former president interfered in elections, his lawyers said they believed that the president should be immune from legal proceedings. Mr Trump is on trial in Georgia over dozens of charges which allege that he attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
