Washington Today (11-10-23): VP Harris files to put Joe Biden on SC presidential primary ballot

Vice President Kamala Harris makes a surprise visit to South Carolina to file the paperwork to put President Joe Biden on the state's Democratic presidential primary ballot, which will be the first in the nation for the Democrats. It was Joe Biden's presidential primary victory in South Carolina in the 2020 election cycle that propelled him to the nomination… and ultimately the White House. Vice President Harris telling supporters today, "let's do it again". Jill Stein announces she will seek the Green Party nomination for president… She has run twice before, in 2012 and 2016. Her campaign slogan on her social media accounts is "People. Planet. Peace.” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen meets with China's Vice Premier in San Francisco ahead of the meeting between President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping in that same city next week. Secretary of State Antony Blinken thanks Israel for its daily pauses in the fighting against Hamas in Gaza, but says "far too many Palestinians have been killed" in the war between Israel and Hamas. Maryland politicians – federal, state and local – defending how the Biden Administration chose Greenbelt, Maryland as the site for the new FBI headquarters and criticizing the FBI Director for his criticism the process.
