Dublin stabbings update: Parnell Square attack that shocked Ireland | Newstalk

The mother of a young girl injured in the Parnell Square school stabbings two weeks ago has thanked people for their support. The five-year-old girl was left critically ill after the incident outside Gaelscoil Coláiste Mhuire in Dublin city on November 23rd. Two other children, aged five and six, were also injured in the attack but were discharged from hospital afterwards. A carer, who was stabbed as she tried to shield the children, was also hospitalised. In a statement posted on a GoFundMe page, the mother of the young girl still in hospital thanked everyone for their generosity over the past fortnight. "Dear all, thank you so much for the incredible gesture and kindness you have shown our family during these troubled times," she said. "Your thoughts, prayers and generosity have and will go a long way. "Our little girl has shown incredible strength and [is] still here with us. "We don't know yet what lies ahead as it is still early, but she is resilient and limitations will not stop her. Thank you so much. All the love we can give," she added. Many children from junior and senior infants witnessed the stabbings while others had to shelter in the school as emergency services helped the injured.
