'Biden administration would be very embarrassed': Iran 'likely' directed Hamas on attacks

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says it is “overwhelmingly likely” Iran directed Hamas to commence terror attacks against Israel as the Biden administration maintains there is no “smoking gun of pure proof”. Mr Sheridan joined Sky News to discuss the international fallout of the terrorist attacks and the hand the United States has potentially played. “But of course they don’t want it to be Iran because that would throw into relief the utter foolishness of their own policy,” he told Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin. “They’ve allowed $6 billion of frozen Iranian money to be released in exchange for Iran releasing a number of American hostages. “So if it is established that Iran directed this, the Biden administration would be very embarrassed. “The Wall Street Journal revealed clear meetings between senior Iranian officials and Hezbollah and Hamas in the leadup to this.”
