Russian Commander Fired, Chechen Fighters Hit in Mariupol, Nato Won't Negotiate On Behalf of Ukraine

Ukrainian authorities claim that its forces have hit the barracks of Ramzan Kadyrov’s Chechen fighters in Mariupol. Exiled authorities of Mariupol said that Kyiv’s troops attacked the Illich Iron and Steel Works plant. Ukrainian authorities said that the injured were evacuated from the plant and were taken secretly toward Donetsk. A senior Russian general says he was fired after accusing Moscow’s military leadership of betraying his troops. Gen. Ivan Popov, who was fighting in Zaporizhzhia region, accused Russian military leadership of not providing sufficient support. The Russian general said he had reported about “the mass deaths and injuries of our brothers from enemy artillery”. Russia has said that the results of the NATO summit demonstrate that it has "finally returned to the Cold War schemes”. Russia also said that NATO's attempts to cover up their aggressive aspirations and actions with the UN Charter do not stand up to scrutiny. This comes after NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg said the more support West provides to Kyiv, the more land they will be able to retake. Meanwhile, Russia plans to display destroyed NATO equipment outside the embassies of Western countries, a Duma official said. Joe Biden has confirmed that the US is considering providing long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. When asked about ATACMS, Zelensky said he had discussions about it with Biden, “but there is no decision yet”.
