The Pentagon has stated that the current battlefield conditions in Ukraine are not suitable for deploying F-16 fighter jets, and future decisions regarding the use of fighter jets will be based on the evolving circumstances on the ground. Denmark and the Netherlands have taken the lead in training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, but the extent of the American role in this initiative remains undisclosed. Ukrainian forces have made gains in various sectors of the frontlines, including western Zaporizhzhia Oblast and the vicinity of Bakhmut. The Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down 23 drones, including kamikaze drones, launched by Russia towards Ukraine.
