Ukraine claims to have made a significant breakthrough in its counteroffensive, saying its forces have 'decisively breached' Russia’s first defensive line in the southern Zaporizhzhia region. Just a week ago, Ukrainian troops reclaimed Robotyne, a key village on the Zaporizhzhia frontline. The latest reports of an advance would mark a significant boost for Ukraine amid concerns from some of its allies that the counteroffensive is faltering. On Wednesday, Kyiv hailed the recapture of the village of Robotyne, calling it a strategic victory. Now, Ukrainian forces have breached Russia's fist defensive line in the Zaporizhzhia region. So how close are the Ukrainians getting to being able to hit the main Russian supply lines in the South? And does Moscow lack the necessary manpower to defend the frontline? How important would it be if Ukraine were to advance towards Melitopol and Berdiansk and so cut the land bridge to Crimea? DW speaks with military analyst Frank Ledwidge for his assessment of the situation.
