The RSPCA has been accused of succumbing to online pressure from “ill-informed individuals” by a woman cleared of animal cruelty in a “politically charged” trial. Sarah Moulds was found not guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a grey pony named Bruce Almighty, at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday. The 39-year-old, who lost her job as a teacher after the incident was filmed, said she had dedicated her life to “nurturing young minds” and it was “heart-wrenching to have been so wrongly and publicly maligned”.
