Speaking from Manchester, the home secretary says engineers are working intensively to find the cause. More than three hours after it reporting the 'technical issue', flight control operator National Air Traffic Services says it has 'identified and remedied' the problem. NATS says the outage has hit its ability to process flight plans automatically, meaning the plans have to be input manually, a much slower process.
