Netflix announces crackdown on password sharing

Netflix has announced a crackdown on password sharing will begin in Australia today. Customers will receive an email about the changes and will use the IP address to determine which devices are in the main household. The platform will offer an ‘extra member’ option at an added price of $7.99 a month to allow users in another location access to the account. The new rules have already been tested in South America and imposed in New Zealand and Canada.
