The escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Islamist militant group Hamas has left thousands dead. Foreign nationals are desperate to flee the violence. Many are gathering at Gaza's only border crossing with Egypt in the hope that it will re-open soon. At the same time, governments around the world are rushing to get their citizens out safely with repatriation flights from Israel. But there's growing anger in Israel over the plight of hostages taken by Hamas in the attacks last weekend. Some families say the only option is a full-scale invasion of Gaza.
