The Princess of Wales is sometimes compared to the late Queen Elizabeth II; she is one of the most photographed women in the world, but remains inscrutable. In the recent book Courtiers, the journalist Valentine Low reveals that the Princess may have been directly involved in the response to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Oprah Winfrey interview. She apparently drafted the line that “recollections may vary”, which was then added to the late Queen’s response.
