The Azov Regiment destroyed at least 1,157 Russian troops and a "huge" number of enemy military vehicles were destroyed in Mariupol | Update on the war between Russia and Ukraine on April 29.

The fighters of the Azov Regiment have destroyed 1,157 enemy troops and damaged a large number of Russian military vehicles in the city of Mariupol since the Russian invasion began.
The related statement was made by the Azov Regiment on Telegram, a reporter for Ukrinform reported.

“The enemy planned to capture Mariupol in three days. The Azov regiment fought in a desperate battle with the superior force of the enemy, exceeding 14,000 men. Despite enemy aircraft, heavy bombs, overwhelming enemy forces and Russian naval artillery, the defenders of [Mariupol] stood between the enemy and all of Ukraine. Since the full-scale invasion of the occupiers began, the Azov Regiment has eliminated 1,157 enemy troops according to confirmed data (and 840 more remain unconfirmed), the report says.

The Azov Regiment heroically defeated many "attacks" of the Russian army with an overwhelming number of enemies.

According to the Azov Regiment, the following enemy military vehicles were destroyed or damaged: tanks (49 destroyed, 29 damaged); armored personnel carriers (23 destroyed, 24 damaged); infantry fighting vehicles (36 destroyed, 24 damaged); air attack vehicles (five destroyed); armored fighting vehicle - Typhoon (two destroyed, two damaged), Tigr (three destroyed, two damaged), Lynx (two destroyed, two damaged) ; trucks (25 destroyed, 8 damaged).

The Azov regiment also destroyed the Russian patrol boat Raptor and damaged a Su-25 aircraft.

As a reminder, the armed invasion of Russia caused one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the city of Mariupol. The Russian military is shelling unarmed civilians and blocking the delivery of humanitarian aid.
