‘Huge amount of concern’: Vic govt’s ‘lack of genuine consultation’ with farmers

There is a “huge amount of concern” amongst Victorian farmers over the planned AEMO transmission lines project, says Victorian Farmers Federation President Emma Germano. “We’ve got farmers who are very concerned,” Ms Germano told Sky News host Amanda Stoker. “There’s been a long build up I suppose and what we’ve seen is this lack of genuine consultation with the landholders who are obviously going to be hosting this public infrastructure on behalf of the community. “If this is where these lines need to go, on agricultural land, you probably should be speaking with the agriculturalists and the farmers as a first point of call.”
