Major reforms to teaching amid concerns on quality of graduates and teacher shortage

People aspiring to be teachers are set to spend less time learning about the history of education and more time on skills to manage rowdy classrooms under the new proposed plan to reform teaching. An expert teaching panel has released its proposed changes, including raising the target ATAR to 80. The panel is also proposing incentives such as $20,000 and shorter courses to attract mid-career workers to the profession.
